Self Evaluation of Asynchronous Lesson
This week I submitted my asynchronous lesson. We were asked to do a self evaluation of our lesson based on the rubric provided by the instructor. I will go through my evaluation in the following section.
Content:
The content of my lesson includes the portions that are required. It meets AECT Standards
1.1.1.a, 2.3.1, 2.3.2, 2.3.3, 2.4.2.

Learning Styles:
I have covered multiple learning styles by using digital videos, notes, games, and self guided learning. This covers AECT Standards 1.1.3.a, 1.1.4.a, 1.3.a, 2.4.3.

Engagement:
I have created a highly engaging lesson by incorporating notes, a digital game and student responsibility for an experiment using their new knowledge. I think the digital game is the most engaging because it allows the students to play with the concepts they are learning. This meets AECT Standards 1.1.3.a, 1.1.3. b, 1.3.d, 2.0.1, 2.0.2, 2.2.1, 2.2.3, 2.4.1, 2.4.4, 2.4.7, 3.3.1.

Adaptive/Assistive Technologies:
My lesson is fairly adaptive, but I did run into issues with the site that I am hosting my videos on. I want to have captions included with the videos, but that site does not have that option. Another option is to include captions in the actual video. This will require me to create an actual script to go with my videos and post that transcript along with the video. This meets AECT Standard 1.1.2.b

Assessment:
I have included both formative and summative assessments in my lesson. Students have to play with the lesson and create accurate notes based on what they learn. They will also have to complete a final quiz on the lesson. Students are able to think about how they will use this information in real life and create their own experiment that will show results of what they have learned. I also added a rubric for guiding and assessing activities at a mastery level. It is located here. This meets AECT Standards 1.1.5.a, 2.0.5
