Energy Sources Public Relations Team
As a public relations team, you will be researching an energy source and developing a compelling argument that will show why we should be investing in this energy source. In this project, your team will need to gather information about the energy source from different sources including the Internet, social media, and via live interviews of experts in your field. You will need to locate an “expert” in your energy source that you can interview. You will be saving resource material in the class Diigo site so you can reference it in your work. Other teams may want to access your links as well. You can use Twitter to locate experts in your field and build a relationship with. You will need to set up an interview with your expert using either Google+ or Skype.

Why is your energy source the future of power?
Through research, your team will create a compelling argument for an energy resource that you think is the future of powering our society. You will post your argument in a team blog for all to see. When you create your blog, all members of the team should have access to edit the blog. Save all of your research resources to the class Diigo site. https://groups.diigo.com/group/energy-sources-for-the-future You will need to research a few different types of energy sources before deciding on one type. Your group should discuss the different options in the group Edmodo site. Use the code px3nk9 to join or follow this link to access the Energy Resources group. https://edmo.do/j/2xzrs7
Find an Expert for your Energy Source
Now that you have discussed what energy source to take on, your team will need to find an expert in the energy source. Use Twitter to search out an expert. Use hash tag searches to find tweets about your energy source. Share the users that you follow in your Edmodo group as well as the hash tag that you are following. Remember to re-tweet using the hash tag #wempenergysources.
Interview with an expert
Create 5-7 questions that you came up with after researching your energy source. These should be questions that you were not able to answer easily by doing simple research on the energy source. An example might be, What innovations are you working on in this energy source?
These questions should be discussed in your small team in Edmodo before deciding on final questions. Once your team has decided on your questions, you can connect with your expert via Skype, Google+, or any other video conferencing tool of your choice. Make sure to keep notes on your answers that you get back from your expert.
With your questions answered, create a blog entry in your team blog that discusses the questions that you had, why you had them, and what you learned from your expert.

Blogging
Throughout this project, your team will be blogging about your process. Your team should have blog entries about each step of the project. Make sure to share links to your teams blog in both your Edmodo group page and Tweet a link using the hash tag #wempenergysources.
- Create a blog entry describing the different energy resources that are available for your team.
- Create a blog entry that describes the different energy sources that your team is looking at, and how you came to a final decision on one energy source.
- Create a blog entry that documents the process of finding an expert on your energy sources, and how your team came up with relevant questions to ask them in an interview.
- Create a blog entry that details the process of interviewing your expert. Detail what worked well, what didn’t work well, what was surprising, etc.
- Create a final blog entry that details the benefits of your energy source. Use resources collected through the project, including your expert, to create a persuasive argument as to why society should be using your energy source for power.
