Objectives:
Students will be able to use an eBook to create a lab report based on their experimentation with projectile motion.
Students will be able to use an eBook to create a lab report based on their experimentation with projectile motion.
Activity:
View the introduction to projectile motion book
Read through the attached eBook and follow the procedures in it. After completing your experiments with kinematics, you will need to record your results. To do this, you will be writing your lab report in the form of an eBook.
You will be formatting your lab report in BookBuilder. You will need to include all the necessary sections in your lab report.
Title Page – The title page should include the title of the experiment, your name, the class period, date, and the instructor name.
Introduction – The introduction should include a summary of the experiment that you were conducting. You should include the scientific premise behind the experiment and what you are trying to learn in the experiment. You should also include a hypothesis about what you expect to get out of the experiment.
Materials and Procedures – In this section you will list out the necessary materials that are needed for conducting the experiment. They can be in a list format. The procedures should be written so the experiment can be recreated by someone else. This means details are important. It should include formulas that will be needed for calculation as well as descriptions of how the formulas are applied.
Results – this section will include all results from the experiment. It should include data tables and graphs representing the data collected from the experiment. The data should include all calculations that were used as well as how they were used to collect data. The graphs and data tables should include descriptions of what the reader is looking at and why it is relevant to the experiment.
Questions – This section should include any questions that were provided in the lab. The questions should be included along with complete and thorough answers.
Conclusion – The conclusion should describe whether the hypothesis was accurate or not and why. You should discuss the results of the experiment and support your conclusion with data from the experiment.
